McIvor Construction Management completed a full renovation of the amenity spaces on Merton Street, transforming an outdated fitness area into a modern, functional environment for residents. The project included a new fitness centre, upgraded bathrooms, and a refreshed sauna, delivering a clean and contemporary look that enhances the overall resident experience.

Through thoughtful planning and disciplined execution, the team converted aging infrastructure into a high-quality, durable space designed for daily use.

Complete Interior Transformation

The renovation began with a full interior gut of the existing space, removing outdated finishes and systems to create a clean slate. From there, new finishes, fixtures, and layouts were introduced to improve flow, functionality, and aesthetics.

Modern materials and durable surfaces were selected to withstand heavy daily traffic while maintaining a polished, upscale appearance consistent with the building’s standards.

Systems and Infrastructure Upgrades

Beyond cosmetic improvements, the project included comprehensive mechanical and electrical upgrades to support new equipment, improved ventilation, and enhanced lighting throughout the fitness and wellness areas.

Working Within an Occupied Building

Construction took place within a fully occupied residential building, requiring restricted working hours and careful scheduling to minimize disruption to residents. Access, noise control, and daily coordination with building management were critical to maintaining smooth operations.

Despite these constraints, McIvor CM maintained schedule and budget control, successfully delivering the project on time and on budget.
